Insights into My Work

Who I Am

When I completed my first class degree in Modern History and Sociology from the University of Surrey, like most graduates I didn't know what career to pursue. I dabbled with many generic paths; Human Resources and compliance to name a few. But they didn't fulfil my interest and passions.

I am car-mad. According to my parents, I used to shout out the names of cars from my push chair (I can safely say I don't do this anymore). That passion continued through my formative years.

I also love writing and enjoy sharing my knowledge of the car industry with family and friends, whether they wanted me to or not. Consequently, I decided to embark on an automotive journalism career.

That is why I have created this website. To showcase my skills and talents that my CV would not otherwise do.

I am currently a freelance writer with a focus on the automotive sector, improving SEO performance for various business websites.

I have also had the great opportunity to gain work experience at Haymarket Automotive, including the Magazines Autocar and What Car? I assisted in editorial tasks for Autocar, including converting online articles to a variety of foreign languages. I also had the opportunity to write a used car review following the Haymarket Automotive Style Guide. The review is available to read below.

The week was hugely beneficial to me and I am eternally thankful to Tom Evans at Haymarket for providing me with the opportunity.

Moving forward I am looking into gaining more experience and improving my skills further. I am open to a wide variety of positions, including work experience, freelance writing, apprenticeships and more permanent roles.

If you would like to contact me to discuss anything further, please use the email at the bottom of the page.
